Phoenix Senators
Description
The Phoenix Senators are a 19th-century rules, vintage baseball team that plays in the Arizona Vintage Base Ball League. Pre-1900 rules govern the game, and historical accuracy is a requirement for each team's equipment and uniforms. Our uniforms are modeled after the real-life Phoenix Senators that played ball in Arizona starting in 1915. We have several vintage-style wood bats with no tape, as per the good ol' days. No batting gloves or sunglasses allowed either. Although regular-sized baseballs are used, the rules changed between underhand and overhand pitch in the 19th century, so both styles are played in our league. Our regular season starts in the fall and runs through the spring. have a nearly full roster but we are looking for a few more players.
